As the outgoing chairperson, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this year’s Annual General Meeting, celebrating our 2020/2021 accomplishments.
I wanted to start by thanking you for joining us today; your support and presence here is indicative of the steps we’ve made in the right direction, and of the possibilities of what could be as we continue down this path.
First and foremost, I would like to thank my fellow executive committee members. They have demonstrated unwavering commitment and support to the organisation, and they have been instrumental in enabling the ongoing evolution and maturity of our organisation.
I would also like to thank AAAC members and supporters without whom none of this would be possible. The outgoing committee appreciate your support and other inputs into making our organisation what it is today and what it will become tomorrow and into the future. We have a good foundation upon which to build that was established by all of us and it is our responsibility to build on it to ensure the future of our organisation for our future generations.
AAAC continues to evolve and has quickly become disciplined with a clear focus that serves as a model for other community organisations. The partnerships and joint projects we have conducted stand as a testament to the respect and esteem held for the organisation by the broader community.
The needs and aspirations of the members of the AAAC are always paramount. Having established the foundations of a sound organisation, the work of building these links and maintaining them into the future begins in earnest.
